Daylesford and Macedon Ranges
Daylesford and Macedon Ranges is the state's capital of indulgence, with spa retreats and natural springs, luxury accommodation, great cafés and fine dining. Relaxation is within easy reach - Daylesford is only 90 minutes' drive from Melbourne and an hour from the city's airport.
Home of rejuvenation
For more than 100 years, people have flocked to Daylesford and the surrounding spa country for rest and reinvigoration.
More than 80 per cent of Australia's naturally occurring mineral springs are found in the region, with over 70 mineral springs located around the towns of Daylesford, Hepburn Springs, Kyneton, Blackwood and Ballan. The water is full of health-giving minerals and every spring has a unique combination.
Where mineral waters flow, spas flourish. Since 1896 the famous Hepburn Bathhouse and Spa has drawn people to bathe in warmed mineral waters from nearby springs. Currently undergoing a redevelopment, the Hepburn Spa will open its doors to guests again in 2012.
Creative community
Daylesford and the wider region are home to a large community of practising artists and craftspeople, from furniture makers to sculptors, textile artists to painters. Tour artists' studios and view paintings in local galleries. The Convent Gallery combines art with great views, food, wine and gifts in a 19th century mansion.

Luxury accommodation
On the foreshore of beautiful Lake Daylesford, Lake House offers waterfront accommodation, the state-of-the-art Salus Spa and a restaurant that has won a string of awards for service, ambience, cuisine and cellar. Lancemore Hill is set on 274 acres of vineyards and natural bushland, in the foothills of the Macedon Ranges. The eco-friendly Novotel Forest Resort Creswick also stands in a bushland setting and is surrounded by an 18-hole golf course.
Local wine
The Macedon Ranges is renowned as the grape growing region with the coolest climate in Victoria. Visit one of more than 40 cellar doors to taste the wines - including Pinot Noir and sparkling wines - that have made the region famous.
